Part Two
The Ship gets much closer
to compleation. Most of the main details are finished. The mast
is up and I only have the sales, sculpting , and pianting to go.
Here are some unpainted crew minis for scale refference.
A shot of the ship with a
few more details. The mast and bowspirt, tiller, and hatches.
The Gaff and Boom in place
and the fighting top (crows nest) and cabin door.
A closeup of the fighting
top. This type of crows nest has no sides so sharpshooters can shoot
from it with less restriction.
A closeup of the tiller.
It's made from Balsa. I should have made it from bass wood and
made it and the shaft the same piece.
The rudder made from bass
wood. I think it is dead sexy! Came out just as I wanted it to.
A port I made from copper
wire I flattened. It's for an anchor chain. I'll need to putty
it just a little.
A shot of the ship from the
bow. I had just added the stairs up to the quarter deck.
A closeup of the stairs and
cabin door. Also a good shot of the aft hatch. I think I need
to add a top step to the stairs.
A shot of the ship as she
stands now. On the the detail sculpting and the sails.
