Turn 2
Turn two saw the first supprise move of the game. Jeff's Orks and Goblins
made a successful march move and a successful difficult terrain test to move
his banner under the command of Runmust Hamfist on to The Old Dwarf Fort.
James made a note that he would have to add Runmust to his Book of
Grudges for the underhanded maneuver as he had planned to have the first
banner to take the Dwarf structure himself. Runmust and his Orks and
Goblins would have to clear out the Skaven infestation in the Fort before
he could fully claim the territory though. Marks Empire banner Division
1 moved into Baumheim Ferry but the villagers were already trying to burn
their own village down to keep the Empire forces from gaining control of
their critical ferry. The general of Division 1 sent a captain and
a unit of Reiksguard Knights ahead of his army to try and stop the villagers
from raising the town. Michelle's banner at Road Watch chose to fortify
the territory and her new banner moved one territory to the west. James
moved his banner east one territory south of The Old Dwarf Fort. Nathan
moved his banner one territory east as well leaving his banner adjacent to
The Old Dwarf Fort as well. Bill's banner (still being moved by Mark
as all of this happened on the first night) moved another territory to the
south.
The mighty power of Waah magic proved too much for the Skaven infesting The
Old Dwarf Fort. Jeff would get another banner for this special territory
and become the first player to control two of these coveted map sections.
But how long will he hold it with both Dwarf and Chaos banners in adjacent
territories and the chance that the Skaven could return at any time from
inside the mountain itself.
Marks Reiksguard knight managed to win their skirmish against the Baumheim
defenders by a narrow victory . This is good for him because had he
lost he would not get any points for the territory denying him not only a
new banner for the special territory but also a new banner for controlling
three territories at the top of next turn. Nathan, Bill, and James
will also get an additional banner for controlling three territories at the
start of turn three.
